What is End of Life Doula?
An End of Life Doula, also known as a Death Doula, is a trained and compassionate individual who provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support to individuals who are nearing the end of their lives, as well as to their families and loved ones. The role of an End of Life Doula is similar in some ways to that of a birth doula, who assists individuals during the process of childbirth, but instead focuses on the end-of-life journey.
An End of Life Doulas does not provide medical or clinical care, but rather complement the work of healthcare professionals by focusing on the emotional, psychosocial, and holistic aspects of the dying process. Their goal is to ensure that individuals have a peaceful and dignified transition, surrounded by support and understanding.
I am certified as an End of Life Doula through Lifespan Doulas. Additionally, I hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Walsh University. Over the course of my career, I have gained valuable experience across diverse industries. This journey has led me from roles such as health code billing to managing government contracts for an airplane fuel company, and even encompassed selling office supplies.
At the core of my approach lies the motto: "Always happy to help." Throughout my life, I have been driven by a profound passion for aiding those who often go unnoticed by society. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic served as a poignant reminder of my purpose. It became clear to me that I wanted to channel my accumulated skills and expertise towards assisting individuals in the final stages of their lives.
